Exfoliate your entire body 24 hours prior to your appointment using a sugar scrub or exfoliating mitt. This is literally THE MOST IMPORTANT prep instruction! You do not want to exfoliate same day because your skin needs time to rebuild its amino acids. Exfoliate your entire body including; back, knees, elbows, hands and feet.
Shave at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. If you shave the same day the solution may settle into your hair follicles causing spots. Avoid using razors with moisturizing strips if shaving less than 24 hours prior to your appointment.
Waxing and spa treatments (manicures, pedicures, massages, etc.) should be done 48 hours prior to your appointment.
Wear dark, loose fitting clothing to your appointment. Flip flops are recommended. If rain is in the forecast, bring an umbrella!
Day of Appointment
We recommend a warm water rinse prior to your appointment, without using any product in hair or on skin. Make-up, lotion, perfume, and/or deodorant should be removed prior to your appointment. If left on skin they act as a barrier and prevent the solution from making direct contact.
During your appointment you can choose to be dressed, or not. This is up to your comfort level. Men and minors are required to wear an undergarment.
Your spray tan technician will ask you to put on a hair net, neat feet, and will offer eye shields and nose filters. Lip balm can also be worn.
Your spray tan technician will first apply prep spray. Prep spray balances your pH levels which makes the color pop quicker, and makes the tan develop and fade more evenly.
Your spray tan technician will then apply the sunless solution. The technician will guide you on how to properly position yourself throughout the session. The application will take less than 5 minutes.
After applying the sunless tanning solution your spray tan technician will apply a moisturizing spritz. The spritz allows for maximum absorption, acts as an odor inhibitor, and hydrates the skin.
Lastly, the technician will apply drying powder so you don't feel sticky and tacky.
Post Tan Instructions
After your session, and until your first rinse, avoid tight clothing, socks, and jewelry. Wear loose fitting, dark colored clothing. Long sleeved shirt and pants are recommended, especially if you are sleeping with the solution on your skin.
Until your first rinse, avoid water/liquid exposure. This means doing the dishes, giving the kids a bath, condensation dripping from a cup, excessive sweating, rain, pets licking you, laundry, etc. Getting your skin wet too soon after your appointment will prevent the tan from developing.
Also, until your first rinse avoid prolonged skin to skin contact with yourself and with others. This can be crossing your legs, cuddling, holding your child, sleeping with your leg/arm folded, resting your elbow on your leg. If there is prolonged contact that area will turn into dark spots.
Wait at least 8 to 10 hours to rinse; for best results up to 24 hours. Use luke warm water and using your hands gently massage the entire body in a circular motion to rub off the bronzer. You don't want to use product on your body during your first rinse. Only use product on critical areas like face, underarms, feet and private areas. Pat skin dry.
After your first rinse, you can follow your normal routine (makeup, deodorant, lotion, etc.). It’s important to keep your skin moisturized, moisturizing up to 2 times daily, if needed.
You should avoid long showers or baths and hot tubs. Pat your skin dry. Salt water exposure or a chlorinated pool can also shorten your spray tan
